Kozlov Show, March 2002
March 9th, 2002
The Barrie Model Yacht Club finally got some "Winter Water" at a presentation at the Kozlov Centre Mall in Barrie.
The pond was small but we were able to operate all of our scale boats. We even had a sailboat in the water. There were about a dozen club members present with more than 24 boats on display. This pretty much exhausted the space available to us.
Boats were in operation non-stop all day long. There were tug boats, military ships, freighters, pleasure craft, and an Air boat. Sometimes the pond was very crowded resulting in a few bumps. Other times a few show-offs took the stage. I remember one particular speedy blonde who almost drove her boat onto the mall floor.
We even had a balloon bursting race between Peter Richards and Andrew Carter.
Our thanks go to Kozlov Mall for providing the facility and outstanding support.
Pete Ellis, Vice Commodore BMYC
