The Seawolf is a dynamic diving submarine. This means that at low speed the sub stays on the surface. However, as speed is increased, the boat automatically submerges. If high speed is maintained, a mechanical depth control system acting on the forward hydroplanes controls the submerged depth. If you have a third channel you can control the hydroplanes and over-ride the automatic depth control system. You can then run the sub on the surface at high speed, and carry out "crash dive" manoeuvres.
