Windows 95/98 Setup Instructions

NOTE: For these steps, enter the information between the quotation marks (” “). Please do not enter the quotation marks. You may also require your Windows 95/98 installation CD-ROM or Floppy disks. Please have them available.

Netmask / Gateway Information

Netmask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 206.130.189.33

Domain Name Servers (DNS)

Primary: 206.130.189.56
Secondary: 206.130.189.62

Creating a Dial-Up Connection Icon:

» Double click the icon “My Computer”
» Double click the icon “Dial Up Networking” (if this icon doesn’t exist, call for assistance)
» Double click the icon “Make New Connection”
» Enter “Orillia ProNet”  Click Next
» Enter the area code. Enter the Phone number that corresponds to your city. (see top of page)
» Click Next. Click Finish
» Click once with your right mouse button on the “Orillia ProNet” icon. Select “Properties”
» On the “General” Tab below the country, make sure “Use area Code…” is NOT checked.
» Click the “Server Types” Tab or button.
» Make sure “Type of Server” says “PPP:…”
» Make sure ONLY the following boxes are checked: “TCP/IP” and “Enable software Compression”
» Click the “TCP/IP Settings” button.
» Setup the screen the same as the image to the right.
» Click “OK”. Click “OK”. Close all open Windows.

Connecting to the Internet:

» To connect, double click on the “Orillia ProNet” icon
» You must enter your user name and password.
» The user name is always small letters, no spaces. The password must always be in capital letters, no spaces.

Once connected, you will see a little black modem or two green computers in the lower right corner by the clock. At this point you may start any Internet software on your machine.

Should you connect but not be able to go anywhere, call for assistance.
