There is so much more to a website than just the way it looks to the naked eye. A lot goes on under the hood that is just as important as how it looks. Do you want an effective website that helps you achieve your business goals? So do we! To get started, here are 5 questions to ask yourself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. ➡️ Is my website user-friendly?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It should be very clear when a user lands on your site how to get to each part of your website. Try to keep the navigational menu short and to the point. If you have more than seven tabs in your primary menu, you’ve likely got too much. Make use of sub-menus and separating your content out into different pages if needed.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

2. ➡️ Is my website persuasive?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Good design is definitely important, but it can’t do its job without persuasive words. You need to tailor the site to the lowest common denominator, meaning a potential customer who knows nothing about your product or service. Never assume they know as much as you, or anything at all about what you offer. Make sure you have clear, bold headings that immediately tell people what you do and sell your services. Your ‘Call To Actions’ should be obvious and featured prominently throughout your site. Always remember to tailor your content to the lowest common denominator, meaning the person who may not be your typical customer but may become one. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

3. ➡️ Is it Search Engine Optimized?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A website isn’t much good if no one can find you. While many people rely on other ways to build traffic (e.g social media) your site should at the bare minimum, be SEO friendly. SEO = Search Engine Optimization⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

4. ➡️ Is it well-built or cluttered?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A note to obsessive plugin downloaders, more is not always better. Hey, don’t get me wrong, we love a good plugin. But when we take over a clients site and I see they have 150 pages and 60 out-of-date plugins, my soul dies a little inside. Its common for clients to use their websites in ways they aren’t intended which causes SEO issues, such as creating a new WEB PAGE every time they are intending to create a Blog Post. They are indexed differently. Your site should run on the bare minimum, it should be clean and built with best practices in mind.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

5. ➡️ Is it well managed?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Your website is not a set and forget solution! You MUST either manage it yourself or get a professional web designer to do it for you. It might seem unnecessary, but when things start to break after you’ve gone months without updating, or security loops holes arise in stale dated plugins your site will be at risk. Content Management Maintenance, as we call it, is a mandatory service whenever getting a website created with ProNet, for both our and your protection. ⠀⠀
